What are the Best Floor Plans for New Homes in Virginia?
New homes in Virginia encompass a variety of styles—from Craftsman and Traditional to Coastal and Contemporary. When you build your home, you can incorporate design details that reflect your taste so you can get a desirable blend of architectural styles.
Take a look at our best floor plans for 2024, paying attention to the layout and features that match your ideas.
Linden III
The Linden III is a classic 2-story home floor plan with impressive curb appeal. The covered front porch, gables, and roof lines will distinguish your home, particularly when you personalize the exterior details, like the siding, trim, windows, and door style and color. Easily transform the Linden III to Traditional, Craftsman, or Folk Victorian!
Once inside the 2,677-square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home, a formal dining room welcomes you. It’s connected to the kitchen with a useful butler’s pantry that makes prep, serving, and clean-up much easier. The butler’s pantry is a popular feature for homeowners who like to entertain.
Another advantage of the Linden III is the first-floor primary suite. Set off the main living area with a vestibule entry, the suite is both private and easily accessible. The adjacent study could expand your suite with a private sitting area, fitness studio, library or home office.
The two other bedrooms are situated on the second floor, where they share a full bath. The loft provides additional space for a variety of uses, and this home floor plan includes a storage area.
Belmont
Looking for single-level living? The Belmont is a ranch-style home that offers plenty of ways to give it exactly the look you want. Adjust the window placement, extend the front porch, add gables, and choose siding styles based on the Architectural Style you select for your Belmont. It’s surprising how a few selections can completely transform the look of your home.
The Belmont is a comfortable 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath ranch with 1,806 square feet of smartly styled interior living space, including storage space, which is a real plus. The bedrooms are located on one side of the home, with entrances that are designed to enhance privacy.
The flex room by the foyer adds versatility to one of our best floor plans for new homes. Think of all the uses: a home office, media room, den, hobby studio, workout area, library, or even a guest room.
The center island kitchen opens to the dining and family rooms, with a view of your deck and backyard. Take in the sunlight that fills your open floor plan’s main living area.
Hartford II
Next on Eagle Construction’s list of our best floor plans for 2024 is the Hartford II, a 2-story home design with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 2,716 square feet. What makes it such a great home? First of all, the architecture is so versatile. Simple choices give you the option to style the Hartford II as Traditional, Arts & Crafts, Craftsman, or European. Look at the various roof pitches and the option to switch to a side-load garage if possible on your homesite and in your community.
Inside, The Hartford II is equally impressive with the placement and size of the rooms. The formal dining room and living room are adjacent and open to each other off the foyer. The plan includes a butler’s pantry that leads from the kitchen to the formal dining room—a perfect place to set up your serving pieces, stack dirty dishes, and store small appliances and seasonal dining ware.
The main living area—center island kitchen, dining room, family room—reflects the open concept and wraps around the covered patio in the back.
The primary suite in this floor plan is a big selling point! The first-floor suite includes a large bedroom with two walk-in closets and a bathroom with oversized step-in shower, dual vanities, private water closet, and linen closet.
Two generously sized bedrooms on the second are positioned on opposite ends of the floor plan, separated by a loft.
Carlisle
Our Carlisle floor plan provides 2,873 square feet of living space, with up to 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, depending on how you configure the space. One of the Carlisle’s most distinguishing features is the 3 covered porches: front, side, and rear. If you prefer, close in the rear patio to create a four seasons sunroom.
Natural light fills the open floor plan as it streams in from the elevated foyer windows. The layout is distinctive, with a combination of spaces that use the width or depth of the plan’s space, which adds visual appeal as well as maximizing every square foot.
The primary suite is located on the first floor, so convenient for people who want the benefits of single-level living but with more room upstairs. The vestibule entry to the bedroom heightens the privacy, and the options for the bathroom let you have the suite of your dreams.
The Carlisle’s design includes both a breakfast nook and formal dining room. Like many of our best floor plans of 2024, a butler’s pantry adds a convenient storage, serving, and entry between the kitchen and formal dining room.
The first floor’s study—with double doors—can serve a variety of functions. How nice to have a choice!
Upstairs, the noteworthy space configuration continues with the design of two bedrooms, full bath, loft, and a large area that can be finished as a rec room or additional bedroom.
Azalea
One of Eagle Construction’s newest floor plans, the Azalea showcases the smart use of space in our home designs. You’ll be impressed by how much comfort and convenience this plan can give you. It starts with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths in 2 stories. But that’s just the beginning.
On the first floor, the Azalea has a primary suite as well as a cozy guest suite. The primary suite is tucked in the back of the floor plan, off the family room. Its creative features for smart use of space include a long walk-in closet running along the length of the bedroom’s exterior wall, adding a privacy cushion. The design options for the primary bath include an oversized shower or a shower with a separate tub.
If you like a productive kitchen layout, the Azalea serves up something special. The center island kitchen occupies a corner area and includes a walk-in pantry, a fully functioning zone layout. From the kitchen, you have an open view through the dining area and family room, all the way out to the lanai and backyard.
The second floor presents another unique area: a bedroom with a walk-in closet and a full bath and a spacious loft. You can easily turn the upstairs into multigenerational living or an office suite. And by adding more storage spaces, you can add even more utility to the second floor.
