Eagle Construction is pleased to announce that Melody Hackett, Vice President of Operations and Procurement, has won the inaugural Woman of the Year Award for the home building industry.
This peer nominated award was presented by the Professional Women in Building Council at the Home Building Association of Richmond's Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) awards. It celebrates a woman in the building industry who inspires and influences other women while creating additional opportunities for them in construction.
“It is rare to find a female Vice President of Construction in Richmond’s residential development industry,” said Danna Markland, CEO of the Home Building Association of Richmond (HBAR). “Melody is brilliantly driven to succeed and embraces others to share in that success. Her example will help other women see past barriers, find confidence, and a voice to say, ‘I can do that.’”
Melody has been in the industry for over thirty years and has worked for various builders, making a huge impact along the way. Her influence is demonstrated by the number of trade partners that have followed her throughout the years and the relationships she has with everyone in the industry.
She is dedicated to the advancement of women, not just at Eagle, but throughout the entire home building industry. She has a passion for helping other women grow and capitalize on their individual capabilities.
“This inaugural Woman of the Year Award is the industry’s way of showing that what Melody has accomplished is not only possible, but also celebrated,” said Markland.
In addition to her role at Eagle Construction, Melody also currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Professional Women in Building Council of Richmond.
